Inpatient Hospitalization for Medicaid Clients

Providing Inpatient mental health care after a crisis in a hospital setting is commonly known as post-stabilization care. SBHC uses a network of contracted hospitals for the provision of post-stabilization care.

SBHC staff must authorize admission to a hospital for mental health services. At admission, hospitals must call SBHC at 435-634-5600 or toll-free at 800-574-6763, to request approval. Please let the hospital know that SBHC is your Medicaid mental health provider so they may obtain the necessary authorization.
